Adelaide Pollock – 2015 Awardee

Fashion Design

Adelaide completed her Advanced Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and
Technology in 2014 at TAFE Queensland, Brisbane. She is passionate about fashion and very determined to one day work with an Australian fashion label with an international following and perhaps even launch her own label in Australia. Adelaide used her scholarship to travel to Hong Kong and undertake an internship with an international design group, B.Base.

From this experience she gained valuable insight into the international fashion industry and the processes of design and manufacturing, retailing and account management.

On her return to Brisbane, Adelaide secured a position with active-wear label ‘Lorna Jane’ as a Design and Production Assistant.

Adelaide’s advice to anyone thinking of applying for a QOF Scholarship is “Why not!! It is an amazing opportunity that can open multiple doors in your chosen industry.

For me it has given me knowledge and connections in the fashion industry that would normally take years to develop from Australia. In my future career the experience will be absolutely invaluable on both a creative and business level.”
